Biography Page
Amanda Evora was born in New York City, NY on November 17th, 1984. Her family relocated to Sugarland, TX when she was young and she now trains in Ellenton, FL at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex. She attends college at the University of South Florida with a major in business administration. She would like to give back to figure skating someday either as a coach or a judge and also wants to be a teacher someday.
Amanda began skating at the age of six because her dad found her sister's old skates and they fit her too. She formerly skated with Mike Adler (2000-01) and teamed up with Mark in 2002. She works as a Basic Skills coach at her rink, gives private lessons, and occasionally tutors students in math all while pursuing her own skating career. Her most prized possessions are the pictures that remind her of some of the best times in her life. She is a proud aunt to her niece and nephew, Ayana and Logan, and some of her hobbies include spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, dancing, going to restaurants, playing Guitar Hero, relaxing at home, and going to the movies. When she's done competing, she wants to train for a marathon, volunteer at an Olympic Summer Games, visit New York City and either be in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or see the ball drop on New Year's Eve. She lists her biggest life-defining moment as when she and Mark were named to the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team.
